No Requirements:
People under 18 do not need a parent, guardian, or adult family member.
Notification Required:
People under 18 must inform a parent, guardian, or adult family member.
Permission Required:
People under 18 must get permission from a parent, guardian, or adult family member.
Using a Judge Instead
In most states you can use a judge for this rather than a parent, guardian, or adult family member. This process is called a judicial bypass. Learn more about the rules for your state here.
